When we are children, we need to learn to eat and we use bibs. When we are adults sometimes we have trauma that causes us to loose coordination and need to relearn or loose our mobility and we need bibs. There is no wrong in wanting to keep a clean shirt and changing a covering is much easier than changing a blouse or shirt.
My father likes to call it his “Oops bib” that he uses after several strokes and many TIA’s. It allows him not to worry about not having the coordination or the sensory ability to feel everything on his left side and face. He can have the enjoyment of food and a quick “Oops bib” to keep him clean underneath.
